Gary Plummer

Gary has a long history of public service, beginning back in 1975. He has served on the Windham Town Council and as a Cumberland County Commissioner. Gary was first elected to the Maine House in 2004 and served four terms before being elected to the Senate in 2012. Gary has been recognized for his dedication to his community and his common-sense approach to tackling issues. He taught public school in both Standish and Windham for 34 years. He has been a long-standing member of the Cumberland County Republican Committee, the longest-standing member of the Windham Republican Town Committee, and a State Committeeman of the Maine Republican State Committee. Gary served on the Board of Directors for Windham Neighbors Helping Neighbors. He is a member of the Windham Historical Society where he has volunteered many hours to help create the Village Green. He also monitors Babb’s Covered Bridge for the Historical Society. As a member of the Windham Rotary Garden Club, he helps coordinate, plant, and maintain the gardens at Fosters Corner. Gary also serves as a volunteer driver for the Memorial Day Parade, the Summerfest Parade, the Easter Bunny Parade, and the Santa Claus Parade. As President of the Windham Alumni Committee, he also helps plan a yearly celebration for those who attended schools in RSU 14."
